City University Qatar recently delivered a financial decision-making workshop for Vodafone employees as part of its ongoing collaboration focused on professional development, industry engagement, and future-ready skills.

The session, titled “Numbers That Matter: Using Financial Data to Drive Decisions,” was led by Obada Al-Dimashki, Assistant Professor – Business Studies at CUQ. The workshop focused on helping participants understand how financial data can support stronger business decisions, strategic planning, and performance evaluation.
During the session, Vodafone employees explored key components of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. The workshop also introduced practical approaches to analysing financial ratios, assessing business performance, and identifying strengths, weaknesses, and potential risks through financial data.

This session forms part of CUQ’s wider initiative to offer complimentary executive workshops and masterclasses to valued industry partners. These sessions are designed to bring academic expertise directly to organisations, supporting employees with practical knowledge, professional upskilling, and exposure to topics relevant to today’s evolving business environment.

Through its collaboration with Vodafone, CUQ continues to strengthen the connection between higher education and industry. By delivering practical, industry-relevant learning experiences, the university aims to support workforce development, knowledge exchange, and long-term professional growth.
The initiative reflects CUQ’s commitment to building strong partnerships with leading organisations in Qatar and creating meaningful opportunities for learning beyond the classroom.
CUQ looks forward to continuing its collaboration with Vodafone through upcoming workshops, masterclasses, and professional development initiatives.
