Academic Biography
Ms Amna is a Lecturer in Psychology and Counsellor at City University Qatar. She specialises in supporting young adults with mental health challenges and has a deep interest in the origins and evolution of counselling theories, as well as the fundamental drivers of human behaviour.
Amna teaches undergraduate courses in psychology and recently spearheaded the launch of CUQ’s Wellbeing Programme, a proactive initiative designed to promote mental health awareness and equip students with practical tools to enhance their well-being.
In addition to her academic work, Amna runs a private mental health practice, where she employs a humanistic framework enriched by cognitive-behavioural techniques, neuro-linguistic programming, and hypnotherapy. Her holistic approach focuses on helping clients overcome fears, build resilience, and achieve personal growth.
Outside of her professional life, Amna enjoys reading, hiking, and cooking.
