Academic Biography
Mr Yasir is a Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Engineering at City University Qatar, delivering programmes in partnership with Ulster University. With nearly a decade of experience spanning academia, industry, and entrepreneurship, Yasir brings a unique combination of research expertise, clinical engineering practice, and international curriculum development to his teaching.
His professional background includes leading clinical equipment lifecycle management for various hospitals and founding Biomed96 Ltd, a medical device company supplying NHS hospitals across the UK. These real-world experiences directly inform his approach to engineering education, ensuring graduates are prepared to meet the demands of modern healthcare environments.
Prior to his current role, Yasir held academic positions at Birmingham City University, Sir Syed University, and the City of Wolverhampton College, where he taught biomedical instrumentation, supervised postgraduate research, and worked as an employability skills trainer.
He is a member of the Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET), the Pakistan Engineering Council, and the IEEEP, and is an active advocate for the integration of AI-driven solutions and lean innovation in healthcare systems.
