Dedicated to inspiring and empowering women, City University Qatar’s MBA (Women in Leadership) is designed to develop the next generation of female business leaders. This unique programme equips participants with the skills, confidence, and strategic mindset needed to navigate and lead in today’s dynamic business environment. Covering key areas such as leadership, operations, marketing, economics, strategy development, and finance, students will gain practical and relevant expertise that directly applies to real-world business challenges.

The MBA (Women in Leadership) at City University Qatar mirrors the curriculum, learning outcomes, and academic standards of the UK-delivered programme. While full accreditation by UK professional bodies applies only to the UK-delivered programme, City University Qatar ensures complete alignment with these high-quality standards. Graduates may still be eligible to apply for individual membership or alternative recognition pathways with relevant professional organisations, depending on their experience and career goals.

This two-year, part-time programme is delivered in partnership with Ulster University and The Institute of One World Leadership, offering a distinctive combination of academic excellence and personalised leadership development. Through additional workshops, guest speakers, events, and one-on-one coaching, participants will build an e-portfolio and a personal roadmap for leadership success. Designed for working professionals, this MBA fosters deep self-reflection and exploration, equipping graduates to become resilient and impactful leaders in a constantly evolving world.

To qualify for our Master’s programme, applicants must meet all the following criteria:

• A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2.8 GPA

• IELTS 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in any one band or equivalent such as the Ulster University Password English Placement Test

• Minimum of two (2) years relevant work experience

• If you don’t meet these requirements, the university offers support programmes to enhance your English and academic skills

For the MBA, you will complete 11 separate units over a period of 4 semesters (2 years).

The qualification will be delivered in line with the University’s UK programme specifications and you will receive the Master of Business Administration award from Ulster University.

However, what makes this programme unique is that you will attend additional workshops and guest lecturers that will add value to your professional and personal learning experience. In addition, you will have the option of completing an online assessment towards becoming a Fellow of the Institute of One World Leadership.

Other than the final Project (30 credits), each unit is worth 15 credits each and the total number of credits to achieve the MBA is 180. You will study 3 units per semester, with a commitment to attend lectures/seminars up to 6 hours a week plus independent study time to complete assignments.

You will be required to attend a whole day induction workshop at the beginning of the course where you will learn about the programme, meet your fellow students, tutors and delivery partners and start to plan your learning journey. The additional 6 workshops will take place either over an evening or on a Saturday.

The additional Women in Leadership workshops are designed to provide you with an opportunity to interact with your peers and develop new thinking and approaches that will benefit both your personal and professional life. It will also be an opportunity to meet and hear from international women speakers.

For the MBA, students with an average mark of at least 50% across all assessable elements will be eligible for the award.
