City University Qatar (CUQ), in partnership with Ulster University, continued its CUQ Career Lab Series with an insightful session on Psychology. Held on 19th February 2025 at CUQ’s Lusail Campus, the event welcomed students, parents, and careers advisers eager to explore career opportunities in psychology and its applications across various industries.
Delving into the Science of the Mind
The session featured an engaging keynote presentation by Ms Amna Jamshaid, who provided a comprehensive introduction to the field of psychology. She explored key psychological principles, the science behind human behaviour, and the role of psychology in various professional settings.
Attendees also gained insights into different psychological specialisations, including:
- Clinical & Counselling Psychology – Addressing mental health concerns, psychological distress, and overall wellbeing.
- Educational Psychology – Understanding children’s learning and development, and supporting students with special needs.
- Health Psychology – Examining biopsychosocial factors influencing health and illness.
- Forensic Psychology – Analysing criminal behaviour and rehabilitation strategies.
- Organisational Psychology – Enhancing workplace performance, communication, and employee wellbeing.
- Sports Psychology – Helping athletes overcome psychological barriers and optimise performance.
