City University Qatar has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the El-Yurt Umidi Foundation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, marking an important step in strengthening educational cooperation between Uzbekistan and Qatar.
The agreement establishes a framework for long-term strategic collaboration, opening new opportunities in student scholarships and mobility, academic exchange, joint research, and professional development. Through this partnership, Uzbek students will gain access to internationally recognised academic programmes, while faculty members and researchers will benefit from collaborative initiatives and knowledge exchange.
The MoU was signed by Mrs Gulnoza Ismailova, Executive Director of the El-Yurt Umidi Foundation of Uzbekistan, and Mr Nasser Hassan Al-Naimi, Chief Executive Officer and Board Member of Artan Holding, on behalf of City University Qatar. The signing took place in the presence of His Excellency Mr Ashraf Khodjaev, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the State of Qatar, underscoring the significance of the agreement at both institutional and diplomatic levels.

This collaboration reflects City University Qatar’s continued commitment to delivering world-class higher education and fostering international partnerships that support talent development and academic excellence. As the official branch of Ulster University, City University Qatar plays a key role in providing globally recognised British education while building strong academic bridges across regions.
The partnership with the El-Yurt Umidi Foundation represents a shared vision to invest in education, empower future generations, and deepen academic ties between Uzbekistan and Qatar through sustainable and impactful cooperation.
