City University Qatar has established its Research & Innovation Centre following approval from the Qatar Research, Development and Innovation (QRDI) Council, marking an important milestone in the university’s continued commitment to advancing research, innovation, and knowledge creation in Qatar.
Located at the university’s campus in Lusail, the centre has been developed to support research excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration, and applied innovation across a range of future-focused fields. The initiative reflects the university’s growing focus on creating an academic environment where research, teaching, and real-world problem solving come together.
The Research & Innovation Centre brings together specialised labs in Artificial Intelligence, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Advanced Technology, and Computer and Simulator learning, providing students, faculty, and researchers with access to practical learning and research environments designed to encourage experimentation, collaboration, and innovation.
Through these facilities, the centre aims to create opportunities for students and researchers to explore emerging technologies, develop innovative solutions, and work on projects that address real-world challenges across different sectors.
With a strong focus on ethical, high-quality research and applied innovation, the centre is designed to support faculty members, researchers, and students in developing ideas and initiatives that contribute to knowledge creation, national development, and Qatar National Vision 2030.
The establishment of the centre also reinforces the university’s commitment to strengthening research culture within higher education while encouraging collaboration between academia, industry, and the wider community.
As research and innovation continue to play a growing role in shaping economies and industries worldwide, the new centre represents another step in City University Qatar’s vision to prepare students for the future through innovation-driven learning, industry engagement, and research-led education.
